South Main Baptist Church

Young and Median Adults
South Main @ Home
Young and Median Adult Sunday School communities meet each Sunday from 9:40-10:40 a.m. We have a system of rotating teachers, which lead seminars in our communities for ten weeks at a time. And these are not your normal run-of-the-mill topics. We offer subjects such as various books and passages of the Bible (The Life of David, Gospel of Mark, Pauline Epistles, etc.); Christian conversations on “hot topics” such as war and peace or cloning; explorations of Genesis and the origins of life; Church history on the Reformation; book studies such as C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters; understanding the elements and perils of Fundamentalism; dealing with difficult life experiences such as grief, and many, many more topics. Our teachers offer the expertise of years of study and life experience to their topics, bringing intelligence, candor, and grace to your experience of learning.

We also strive to bring an excellent experience of community to each person who visits Sunday School. You are important to God and important to us, and we want you to know and experience God’s love through your visit to SMBC.

We are about creating a safe place in our Adult Sunday School here at South Main where people can experience and give sacrificial love. It is a place where we focus our energies on the Greatest Commandments of Christ: to love God with heart, mind, soul and strength and to love each other as ourselves. Sunday School is the place where we experience Faith Development through our relationships and our instruction. It is a place of lifelong learning and lifelong community with a family of faith. It is a place where each person can be empowered to carry out their individual ministry gifts. Come and join us this Sunday at 9:40
