South-Main-at-Home small home group communities:
a South Main Tradition with new faces and places: Join Us!

For years, some faithful South Main members have met in homes to worship, discover and share together.  These groups have become meaningful community for each other and are a vital part of helping a big church feel like home in smaller settings.  We are re-advertising groups that still have room for newcomers as well as helping new groups get started.  Please prayerfully consider getting involved in a group or helping start one in your area.

Home Group Overview

What is a South-Main-At-Home (SMAH) group, or home group?

  • A small group of people who meet regularly for fellowship, encouragement, accountability, and study of the Word

Why do we have home groups?

  • They provide the opportunity for believers to develop deeper relationships with God and with one another

How do home groups work?

Each group develops its own format that fits the need of the group members and it would include:

  • Studying the Word of God using the Bible and other Christian resources
  • Enjoying fellowship together
  • Giving and receiving encouragement and support
  • A time of sharing praises and prayer requests

When do home groups meet?

  • Meeting frequencies vary from group to group, from weekly to monthly
  • Meeting times are around two hours
  • Some groups meet during the daytime and some in the evenings

Where do home groups meet?

They are typically hosted in homes that are in or near your community.  Please see the list above. However, new groups can be launched in a variety of locations.

How do I sign up for a home group?

You can sign up by contacting the leader(s) of the group located most convenient for you, or by contacting a lay leader or our church staff at the information provided. You may also contact them for any additional questions.

The Fellowship of the Believers

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer... They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. - Acts 2:42,46-47 New International Version (NIV)
