At SMBC, we have many rich opportunities for senior adults to be involved in the life of the church. Whether it’s Bible Study opportunities, Wednesday Night suppers, retreats, trips, South Main At Home groups or other fellowships, you will find a group of senior adults bonded together by the love of Jesus Christ.

Ministries

Senior Adult Council
This group of Senior Adults plans the many activities of the senior adults. Members of the Senior Adult Council are chosen for this task to assist with the various activities of the MainStreamers.  Council meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

Current members of the Senior Adult Council are: Cliff Brunson, Glenn Carvel, Joyce Gardner, Edith George, Leonard Lane, Bobbye Lott, Mary Pool, Jim Warren, Virginia Warren, Twila Worsham and Waymon Worsham.

Volunteering
South Main Baptist Church has mission activities that allow more of the Senior Adults to give aid to people in Houston, Harris County, Texas or around the world.  SMBC supports a Food Pantry and a Clothing Center, and minister to internationals who are temporarily in Houston through the SMILE program. Senior Adult volunteers are found in all these programs.  The church office can give you the contact for any mission in which you have an interest.  Call 713-529-4167.
