ADVENT DEVOTIONAL DECEMBER 21: LOVE YOUR GOD

Published December 21, 2018 by SMBC

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Deuteronomy 6:

Every year at Christmastime I think of presents, decorating the tree, yummy food, my family, friends, and my church family that has helped me understand and LOVE God. I remember the devotions me and my family do at Christmastime and the funny movies we watch. But everything, when I think about it, all goes back to one thing? God. He created the meaning of the holidays, food, the Christmas tree, my family, friends, and everything we all do. I love God with my soul, and I love God with my heart. I pray every night about various things such as when I am sick, nervous, and afraid. I also pray with gratitude and happiness, and I keep Him up to date with my surroundings. Even though He sees everything we do, it's still fun to talk to Him. I love God with my strength by trying to do the right things, and I know He is my strength to know what is right. I know God will help me through hard times and celebrate all mygood times. Here is my prayer for you and me:

Dear God,

Thank you for everything You do and all the blessings my family and me have received. Please enrich me with Your word and wisdom and keep Your angels protecting us and keeping us safe. Keep bad people away and keep good people near, and keep good thoughts and actions near and bad ones far away. We love and thank you Lord, and please heal everyone who is sick.

Amen.
