Family Ministry Spotlight: MainKids

Published April 24, 2018 by Ginger and Jerry Hamilton

Charis Smith, Jim Flynt, Sara Tirado, Julie White, Cleavy McKnight, Becky Humble, Ginger and Jerry Hamilton, Clarence Bell, and Mitch Cutsinger serve each Sunday as our wonderful MainKids Sunday school small group teachers. First through fourth graders have an intense need to engage in the church and the word of God. Our teachers do just that by not only connecting with our children on Sundays, but also on the other days of the week by attending the children's various activities and events. These teachers work throughout the week to strive to help our children build a lasting and authentic faith in Christ. In this installment of "Meet the Family Ministry Volunteer Team" series, Jerry and Ginger Hamilton share how their commitment and love of these precious kiddos has been a tremendous blessing in their life.

When Ginger and I were asked to substitute teach in the first grade Sunday school class a while back, it had been years since we had worked with young kids. We enjoyed it so much that we felt we had a calling from the lord to pursue teaching again in the children?s ministry.

A couple of months later we were asked to teach and work with the third grade class. It's been a blessing working with the kids this year. We try to stay involved in their lives by attending as many outside activities as possible. From attending their piano recitals to their sporting events, the bond that exists from the extra effort to connect is a blessing to us. We have thoroughly enjoyed this year and are truly blessed to be given an opportunity to serve.
