First, what is faith? The textbook definition of faith is confidence or trust in a person or thing. In our case, our person is God. We can show our faith by trusting in God and not giving up. For example, let's look at Joseph in the Bible. Joseph had a great life. He was a favorite son and his family was wealthy. Your life might not be like Joseph's, but chances are, you had a routine. Yes, life is tough but during these past few weeks, it only got worse. Well, Joseph went through the same thing. His brothers betrayed him and sold him into slavery. They told his father he was dead. Then he had a good title stripped away because a woman lied about him. Life was just getting worse and worse for Joseph.
Think about what would have happened if Joseph lost faith in God. He would not be second-in-command over Egypt and he wouldn't reunite with his family. But he kept his faith. He trusted that God was with him and in the end, God used the bad for good. I feel like a Joseph. My life was pretty good until corona.
I had many friends and we were going to go to the 8th grade dance to celebrate that we were going to high school. I also got an internship at the zoo. But corona hit. All my plans were cancelled. The dance was gone, the zoo was closed, and I couldn't be with my best friends. I felt a little angry towards God. He could make this all go away right now if He wanted. But, I remembered Joseph. He never gave up and God used his bad situation for good.
I know God will use the coronavirus and something good will come out of it. I do not know how God will use it for good but I can guarantee you something: God has been with you since day 1. He will be with you until the end of your days. You might not be able to feel Him but He is there. We cannot give up on God because He does not give up on us. Someone who is always with me is someone I know I can trust. We just have to trust God and not give up. I do not know what you are going through, but God does. So, don't lose faith. Trust in God and do not give up. It will not be easy, but you will prosper from it.
