This is Our Story: New Member Biser Ovcharov

Published June 16, 2021 by SMBC

Biser Ovcharov joined South Main in April of 2020. What attracted him to South Main is our connection with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Wilshire Baptist Church, where he was previously a member, and South Main's commitment to social justice and equity.

Biser and his wife Agnes live near the Texas Medical Center. They are members of the Lighthouse Sunday School community. They support the Emergency Aid Coalition programs as needed. Biser was one of our first group facilitators of the Forum on Race and Church.

A fun fact about Biser is that he promised never to settle in Houston because of the humidity and he has lived in this city for three years now with no intention to move out. He loves Houston.

Welcome to the South Main family, Biser!

In response to your decision, we pledge ourselves to be the family of God for you in this place. We offer you our love, our care, our kinship, and our hopes. We hope to learn from you, give to you, and receive from you by God's grace.
