This is Our Story: New Members Kayli and Chandler Johnson

Kayli is a small town girl from Port Neches, Texas. She was a high school soccer player and loves animals especially her Maltese pup named Bette Davis. Kayli was raised in the Church of Christ. She went to Texas A&M University and studied Environmental design before attending UH for her Masters of Architecture.

Chandler grew up as an inner-looper Houstonian. Chandler was raised in the Presbyterian Church. He played baseball at St. Pius X Catholic High School and was in the marching band. Chandler majored in Art History at Southwestern University and he focused in Roman Art and Architecture. After graduating, he went to UH to do his Masters in Architecture where he met the love of his life Kayli on the first day of class!

Kayli and Chandler started looking for a church home when they graduated from UH and both got jobs in Houston. They visited many churches before attending South Main and falling in love with the community, the architecture, the message, and especially the music. Despite only attending church in-person for three months Kayli and Chandler both knew they had found their church home and decided to become members.

These days Kayli and Chandler love to watch the Astros, spend time with their large families and travel whenever possible. In their free time Chandler volunteers as a mentor at a STEM high school in Alief ISD and Kayli loves to garden and is learning floristry.

Welcome to the South Main family, Kayli and Chandler!
