Our sermon series on I Corinthians concluded this past Sunday as we observed the Lord’s Supper in worship, focusing on a passage in Paul’s letter about remembering the sacrifice of Christ and grace of God whenever we take the bread and wine in the context of such a service. In this regard, we were encouraged to recall the events of the Last Supper which Jesus took with His disciples as a way of deeply embedding the memory of God’s love for us in a way that gives us power, courage, and fortitude to live lives worthy of Christ’s sacrifice. This week, each time you take food and drink, pray gratefully over God’s grace, thankful for Christ’s redeeming love, focused on remembering the story of the Lord’s Supper as one that offers us a transformative kind of strength to face the days ahead.
