Requiem for the Living

April 2, 2023 at 6:30 pm

On the evening of Palm Sunday, April 2, our Sanctuary Choir, guest orchestra, and soloists Chairein Jackson, William Jernberg, and Jason Milam present Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living. This work speaks into the tensions of pain and promise, restlessness and rest, as we journey closer to the Promise of Easter. Though a Requiem is traditionally a service imploring God to grant rest for the deceased, this particular Requiem flips the liturgical genre on its head, turning a service of rest for the deceased into a service of rest for the weary.

The Requiem will be preceded by a dinner and conversation in Turner Fellowship Hall beginning at 5:00 PM, and the concert will begin in the Sanctuary at 6:30 PM. Please join us for this musical journey as we are reminded that, in Christ, there is rest for all who are heavy-laden.
