Shrove Tuesday

Pancake Dinner and Jazz Celebration
March 5, 2019 at 5:30 pm

How can you go wrong with a night of pancakes and sacred Jazz?! Did you know the secular celebration we know as ?Fat Tuesday? actually has a sacred origin? Shrove Tuesday gets its name from the ritual of shriving, a time to confess our sins. This observance traditionally precedes Ash Wednesday and the season of Lent during which certain indulgent foods were omitted. Pancakes became associated with Shrove Tuesday as an ideal means to use up all the eggs, fats, and milk. On Tuesday, March 5, pancakes will be served ($9 per adult, $7 for senior adults, tribe, and youth, $5 for Mini-MainKids and MainKids) at 5:30 PM and Worship will begin at 6:30 PM in the Chapel. Come enjoy pancakes and music and celebration!
