Loss and Grief

Memorial Services

A memorial service aids those in the church and those connected with it to work through seasons of grief in spiritually healthy ways. South Main’s ministers meet with those who have lost a loved one, guiding families through the process of scheduling and developing a worship service that memorializes their loved one in a dignified way. Memorial services at South Main aim to bring comfort to those present, honoring the life of the deceased and celebrating their faith in the context of the resurrection of Christ.

Walking Through Grief

Each fall, South Main provides a grief recovery support community offering for those who wish to share and process their losses and sorrow in a small-group setting. Kristy Wade-Carroll, a South Mainer and graduate of Truett Seminary, leads this program, providing a facilitated environment for help navigating life after loss of a loved one.
