Secondary Trauma Support Group

April 14, 2024 at 12:15 pm

Secondary traumatic stress is a natural but often disruptive part of working with those who suffer trauma. Many professionals, such as physicians, nurses, counselors, and first responders such as police officers, fire fighters, paramedics, and other emergency workers can be vulnerable to developing this type of stress. Symptoms of secondary trauma include compassion fatigue, feelings of isolation, anxiety, dissociation, and isolation, as well as physical ailments and sleep disturbances. If you are such a professional and might benefit from some support and dialogue, we are offering some space for this very thing in the church parlor located behind the Sanctuary at 12:15 PM on the second Sunday of every month. The group will be led by Greg Funderburk. There is no need to sign up. If you have any questions, please email Greg.
