Youth Peru Mission Trip

Published July 18, 2023 by SMBC

The Class of 2024 spent a week in Peru partnering with Operación San Andrés. These nine rising seniors began their capstone year in the Family Ministry with an immersive learning and service experience. We served in Collique with OSA and Iglesia de Esperanza each day and saw how God was working through them to show love and care for the community. We spent our nights in Lima eating really good food and discussing God's unique gifts given to each one of us and how we can use them to share Good News and lead well. Thanks to Mark Gribble, Marco Campos, and JT Spoede for coming with us this week! Thanks to Ruth and Luis Campos for following God's call to start OSA and letting us partner with you!

Vivian Spoede: "At OSA this week, we saw a lot of good work being done and had the honor to partake in it. Getting to know the youth from Peru and the kids in the VBS was amazing and impactful."

Ulisses Negrete: "For me, taking time to learn about OSA in Collique, Peru was the highlight of my trip. I saw how beneficial it is to the people living in the mountains."

Evan Walton: "Language barriers can't stop me from going crazy with making friends. Food was 'bussin' as well."

William Fowler: "Words can't describe my experience at Peru this week. Being with the Collique and Lima kids, learning more about a different culture, and growing my relationship with God all pointed to a great week in Peru."
